Happy 10th Birthday Tyler!!

I can't believe that my only son turned 10 today. It seems like just the other day, he was my best buddy watching Blues Clues with his flaming red hair that stuck up all over and always missing a shoe.
As I did with Megan earlier, here are some of the things that I love about Tyler.
  • Tyler is passionate. Whatever he gets interested in, Tyler does it with passion and motivation.
  • Tyler is sensitive. Sometimes to his dismay. He cares deeply about the things he is involved in.
  • Tyler is always up for fun. He loves all of the things that his dad loves - hunting, fishing, camping.
  • Tyler loves his family. He adores his baby sister and is willing to do anything for her. He loves to show her new things (like the new pool) and hold her.
  • Tyler is always up for playing (with friends, dad, etc.). He loves to watch t.v. or play the computer but will drop any of that to ride bikes or hang out with friends.
For Tyler's birthday today, I borrowed a huge inflatable waterslide from my friend Shelli. Seriously made for the best birthday ever!! Last night, we set up the slide to test it. Well, the kids went down the slide until way after dark and had to be forced inside to get ready for bed.

Today at 1:00, Tyler had a party with a few of his friends. As a mom, I couldn't have come up with a better party! The boys played and played and played outside until I finally suggested we open gifts and have cake/ice cream at 2:45! The watersliding and playing in the pool continued on and off until my family and Ryan's parents came over at 5:00. We had pizza, cake, ice cream, and again played on the waterslide and in the water. The party was sports-themed and I made cupcakes that looked like sports balls.

HUGE THANKS to Shelli for the waterslide - it made for such a great day! The kids had so much fun and Tyler said he had an awesome birthday. Here are some pics from the fun day...

Love those cupcakes!!
I KWYM about them suddenly being 10. My youngest turns 10 in October. My BABY!!! Awww, I can't believe it. I remember him getting a Blues Clues chair when he learned to go to the potty. I miss the Blues times...but he's great now too.
