On May 31st, Ryan went over the hill. He turned 40 years old. It is truly amazing that we are to that age that we have always thought of as "old"...
I organized a big surprise family barbeque for Ryan at a park in West Jordan that has a really cool playground, basketball court, and big eating area. We had a great time in spite of the wind blowing like crazy the whole night. Ryan received a few things that he had been asking for - a new scope for his muzzleloader gun, running shoes, flip-flops (which he has never owned - we'll see if he wears these), dress clothes, money, gift cards, headphones, and a cool gift bag full of things an old man needs (denture cream, hemorrhoid cream, etc.).
The kids had a wonderful time playing and the adults enjoyed eating and visiting. Happy, happy birthday to a man who truly doesn't show his age and definitely doesn't act over the hill!!!
