I posted this pic on Facebook but wanted to post it here as well. In the spring of 2000 (when my parents were still living in Connecticut), we took at trip to visit them and all of us went to New York City for a couple of days. Kailey was 5 and Tyler was about 8 months old. We went to the Statue of Liberty and took this picture. Across the harbor, you can clearly see the World Trade Center Towers in the background. The picture is framed in my office and I think about the significance of the changes that have taken place in the last 10 years often.
I am very proud to be an American and so grateful for the freedoms that I have.
