San Francisco Anniversary Trip

For our 15th anniversary (May 13th), Ryan and I decided to go to San Francisco. We were super lucky to get $99 round-trip fares to Oakland (about 20 minutes from San Francisco) and we got a smokin' deal on a really nice hotel in San Fran.

We were very lucky to have my mom stay with the kids. They had a great time and we were not worried about them for one minute. Grandma lets them do fun things like eat Coldstone ice cream in bed while watching American Idol. :-)

The first night we were there we went to a Giants game. Ryan had never been to a Major League game before. It was freezing cold but we had a great time!!

During the next three days in CA, we went to Alcatraz via ferry boat, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Lombard St. (aka Crooked Street) as well as some areas not quite as desirable like the Tenderloin District (what me not be a good navigator? What?). We also went across the Golden Gate Bridge and to Golden Gate Park. We rented a car for one day and it was fun to be able to drive all over and not have to rely on public transportation.

Unfortunately, we forgot the digital camera and had to rely on a disposable that we bought. Uh, yeah, bad idea. Horrible pics with our fingers over the lens on half of them. Professional photographers we are not.

All in all, we had a wonderful time. We got to sleep in and enjoy some together time. We came home with some fun souvenirs, great memories, and very sore feet
