We played some games, decorated cupcakes, opened gifts, and applied some cute H.S. Musical lipgloss and nail jewels (except for Nathan of course). Megan loved having her friends there and received some fun gifts.
Usually the kids are able to choose somewhere to eat for dinner on their birthday as well as having a party with their friends. This year, Megan decided to go to Chuck E Cheese. Our family was joined by Grandpa and Grandma Wolf, Grandpa and Grandma Mathis, Steve, Andrea, Ashley, Andrew and Lindsey. We ate pizza, played lots of games, won some tickets, got some silly prizes, and had a birthday party complete with cake and gifts. The kids had a blast and the adults were able to get some visiting in while the kids played.
I can't believe Megan is 5. She is such a silly and wonderful girl. Some things that we love about her:
- She has an incredible imagination. She loves to play school and mommy.
- Megan loves music. She got a CD player for her birthday and Kailey made her a CD of a lot of the music that she has on iTunes. Megan knows most of the lyrics to her favorite songs and can tell you the artist's name as well. What other 5-year-old can sing "Poker Face" and knows who Lady Gaga is? She also constantly gets out my piano music and songbooks to sing to.
- Megan is funny. She likes to make up jokes and play pranks on us (calling the house from different cell phones, knocking on the front door).
- Megan really tries to make right choices, although sometimes that does involves "tattling" on others :-) . She loves learning in Primary at church and keeps all of her coloring pages/handouts to look back at.
- Megan loves her dad and has always been a daddy's girl. She loves to go to Maverik with Dad, hang out in the backyard - basically do anything that daddy is doing.
