The hunt and the moose

I think I posted earlier that Ryan drew out for a permit to shoot a moose. Well, fortunately and unfortunately, shoot one he did. We left on September 9th and headed up to camp with Ryan's parents and his brother. The area that we went to was by Hoop Lake in the Uinta's. We actually camped right by the shore of the Lake (much to Tyler's delight). It was a beautiful area. Ryan was actually elk hunting until Friday and then moose hunting starting Saturday morning. They left to go moose hunting at about 6:30 a.m. and shot the moose at about 6:45 a.m. about 1/2 mile from camp. It was a female and HUGE!! The kids were so excited and even watched him gut it. Gross... Right now the moose is at the butcher. If any of you would like some moose meat, just give us a call... :-)
