Well, at the risk of being too graphic, I had my weekly appointment with Marlee (the CNM) on Wednesday and I am dilated to a 3, 80%, and -1 station!! I won't go into anymore detail, but this is definitely further than I have been with any of the other pregnancies at this point. So the plan is at this point to have one more appointment on Tuesday and then induce on Thursday morning with Pitocin. All of the nurses at work joke that this is the plan unless I come in before then in labor. Haa! I just don't think that my body really ever wants to go on it's own... This will be my fourth induction. Of course, I'm not patient enough to wait and see.
My last day of work for 8 weeks was yesterday. It's gotten harder and harder to work... By the time I get home, my legs and feet are swollen sausages and my body hurts. I was, however, discussing with one of my friends from nursing school how lucky I feel to be in the area of nursing that I always wanted to be in. I love L&D and feel so privileged to be part of such an important part of people's lives. It's stressful and there is so much to learn but I am going to miss it for 8 weeks (although going back with a newborn will be hard).
Ryan and Tyler went to an overnight scout camp last night so Kailey had a sleepover and Megan and I fell asleep watching HGTV. Exciting Friday night...
Later today I'm going to post some pictures of Megan and the baby's room that we did. It turned out pretty cute and Megan loves her "pretty pink room".
By the way, the baby's name is still Emily at this point. We'll see if we change our minds over the next week...
