This year Kailey and Megan are both on competition dance teams with N-Step Dance Academy. This is Kailey's second year and Megan's first. I always said that I would never have a young daughter dance on a competition team (lots of money, time, etc.) but at the end of the dance season last year, Megan was awarded a scholarship for this year for all of her tuition. We were SO proud of her!!! Only one other girl was given this award.
Although we drive to dance four days a week, our girls love it. They have both improved and grown so much. This year Kailey is performing three different dances - Allstarzz, lyrical, and hip hop. Megan is learning two dances - lyrical and hip hop. They learn/perfect these dances starting in August and then the competition season starts in February and includes a weekend trip to St. George in the spring for a huge state competition.
This past Friday night was their Christmas performance. Kailey performed all three of her dances and Megan performed her hip hop. They both did an amazing job and we were SO proud of them!! I truly enjoy watching them dance. Yes - I am a proud mom and I'm not afraid to admit it!! It is so much fun to watch both girls do something that they truly enjoy and excel at. Megan smiled for hours and hours....
