This year, Ryan drew a hunting tag for a bull elk (hunting with a muzzleloader). Ryan tells me that this is basically a once-in-a-lifetime hunt... I know nothing about hunting but I know that he has waited a LONG time for this!! He was so excited and Tyler was too. Ryan ended up shooting a beautiful bull - that thing is HUGE! Although I don't like to eat wild game, I am so proud of Ryan and will be very happy to share with our friends and family. :-)
Between scouting before the hunt, the actual hunt, and bringing the elk down to the butcher, Ryan was gone for almost 2 weeks!! Tyler was gone for about a week with him and loved every second of it. They were also accompanied by Ryan's brother, Rick, and Ryan's dad. A fun, exciting, and exhausting time was had by all and we were sure glad when our daddy came home!!

that is nuts!!! its huge!!! what a cool experience for him and tyler, thats so important for a boy and his dad to have those kind of experiences together. but you are a good woman cause i could not have handled a 2 week absence on a seemingly superfluous mission.
